Red lipstick
I wore red lipstick to work yesterday. I don't normally wear red for every day situations - I normally save it for those special nights out, but after watching Jeanne Crain in State Fair the other night, I decided I wanted a little bit of 1940's glamor in my life.

I noticed that red lipstick gets a lot of looks - from men and from women. I think that there must be something tantalizingly sexual and juicy about red lips. Red lipstick makes young women look older and more sophisticated, and older women look younger and more sultry. The shade of red is important, though. Orangey reds only look good on redheads. Red lipstick also tends to bleed more, so you can't apply it to the edges of your lips unless you want to look like Bette Davis in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?

Despite the risks, I wore red Dior lip gloss all day. It feathered a little, but overall, I liked the change. I got looks. I felt vibrant. Men did a double-take, and so did some women. I'm going to make this more of a habit.

So, what do you think? Is red lipstick IN?

I think I need to name that kitty. You know, if you scratch her chest, she purrs.

I like red lipstick. But usually only if I'm wearing something red. Shoes, a bracelet, clothes. But yes, I agree, you do get a lot of looks when you wear red lipstick!

I love red lipstick, although I need to wear more a deep berry colour, always wear it with black or other dark shades of clothing.

I think it looks good! Like all makeup, it just needs to be in moderation :-)

I've never attempted red lipstick. If I'm going for dramatic, I usually play up my eyes. I am envious of women that can pull it off though!

You look great in red. However, some women can't pull it off, or maybe the shade is off or something. I'm not sure. I know more about beer than lipstick...
